Chapter 14: new season, new challenges, new drama.
The next morning, Gwibin was the first one to wake up. Her eyes felt heavier than the usual. Her back was sore and she had difficulties getting up.once her eyes were opened, they eyes were looking directly at the wooden clock hanged on the wall. It was already 11.00 in the afternoon. The pain in her back pulled her back on to the floor. She now realized she was on the floor lying next to Sora. Bottles of wine were all over the place.
“My head…” the hangover is coming. Her inside was bouncing and the headache, the sudden headache attack made her head heavy. The boys were also in the living room sleeping at whichever place the wine had overpowered them. Taeyang was on the couch, his face turning to the side. Seungri was on the table, still holding a bottle of wine that was dripping on the floor causing a purple stain. Jiyong was next to Sora, still holding her in his arms.
“I am so wasted….” She can barely talk. She kicked the side of Sora just to ease the headache she was having.
“Wake up… We’re late for lunch…” she was literally crawling to her, her body shaking from the pain.
“My head………….” Sora felt her throat burning. She coughed a little and with the little strength that she has, pushed herself up while her hands pressed on the nearest sofa.
“We’re wasted…” she laughed a little. “Ji, wake up… Youngbae, wake up….”
“Where’s Daesung-shi?” Gwibin noticed he was not there. The headache was too much to handle. They didn’t even care if Daesung was outside sleeping in the porch. Gwibin finally got to her feet and was still trying hard to find balance. Once she did, she walked to the kitchen. Once she started walking, the dizziness was fading away little by little.
“Ji…” she shook his body slowly. “Wake up….” She gave up on him. She went to the kitchen crawling instead of walking. Her body was too heavy. But she was actually too lazy to get up.
“Here…” Gwibin handed her 2 little pieces of aspirin.
“I found it on the table. I guess the boys were prepared for this…”
“I smell awful..!” she pulled up her shirt to her nose. She was curious to smell the shirt because she thought the smell could help her remember back what exactly happened last night. The smell made her stomach flip and something was rising to her throat. She quickly went to the bathroom and vomited yellow liquids of whoever knows what it was.
“I think I found Daesung….” Sora voice was too faint for Gwibin.
“What..??” the aspirin eased the pain a little bit. Gwibin continued to drink more water to make her feel refresh.
“AAAAHHHH!!!!!!” Daesung screamed and ran out of the toilet. He stood in the middle of the kitchen shaking and his clothes were wet.
“AAHH! IT’S COLD!! MY HEAD!! AAHH..!!”
“Here, have some of this…” Gwibin passed a glass of water. “What did you do??”
“He was asleep in the shower. So I turned on the shower to wake him up….”
“Unnie…you’re too cruel….”
“Hey, that is the best way to wake up a drunken man in a toilet okay. I’ve been through that!”
Daesung who was too tired to argue with her walked away saying nothing. He woke up his hyung one by one telling them to get ready for lunch. They too slowly wake up and the minute their head was up, the headache came like a gun shot through the head.
“What happened??”
“Don’t you remember?” TOP still looked cool. His voice was even deeper and huskier in the morning. “We drank too much ‘coz Daesung and Seungri kept on pouring our glasses.”
“Why am I on the table?” the young maknae who luckily is illegal now to be drinking and going to the club, still sitting on the table with both oh his hand pressing his face.
“You idiot. You were dancing on the table. That’s all I can remember.” TOP threw a piece of trash at him.
“Hey, aren’t we supposed to meet someone for lunch today?”
“Oh yeahh… Mina…” Jiyong face was empty. He looked numbed and lifeless. “Where’s Sora?”
“She’s in the kitchen with Gwibin unnie” Daesung answered.
“Why are you so wet?” TOP who was closet to him noticed Daesung. “That sounds so wrong!”
“Let’s call the housekeeper and get ready for lunch. A little hangover can’t stop me from having fun.” TOP had planned to go snowboarding again today. He wasn’t satisfied that he still couldn’t balance on the board.
“Great………….lunch………….” Jiyong said and gritted his teeth.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“This pain…why did we drink so much….” Jiyong was moaning as all of them walked slowly in the 5 feet snow.
“Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee…” Sora kept muttering ever since they left the chalet. She was like a Buddhist chanting a mantra because she just couldn’t stop muttering coffee.
“We’ll be there soon, hyung…” said Daesung from behind.
“AAAHHH!!!! COFFEEE!!!!” Sora forced herself to run to the front leaving the group behind. She was walking like a mad woman trying to find her children that had done something bad.
“It’s not about coffee, right?” Jiyong who was next to Gwibin and Taeyang was next to her too were walking aligned.
“She’s like that when she’s worried or nervous. You’re a lucky man, Ji..” Taeyang laughed a little. He finds it charming of Gwibin who can make people laugh during a tense situation.
Inside the café, it was fully decorated with wooded chairs with a little modernization into is crafted design. The lights from the ceiling which was chandeliers, simple made the café brighter and more spacious. The smell of coffee and cakes pulled Sora to the bar. She saw pastries of every flavor such as rainbow cakes, chocolate mud pies, lemon meringue tarts and more. Her mouth was watering the moment she saw the big chocolate cake with an angel as a centre piece. The chocolate glaze was sparkling in her eyes. The smell of coffee that calmed her down made her forgot the she was meeting an angel today.
“My little, Sora….. Why did you leave me behind?” Jiyong squeezed her from behind. He saw the happy look in her face as she kept staring, mesmerized by the pasty.
“Oppa…I think I died… I’m in heaven! Pastry heaven!” her eyes widened as she turned to him, squeezing both of his palm.
“Now, this is my Sora. The girls back there screaming in the middle of the snow path was not my….” He didn’t know what to say. He was still wasn’t sure what to call her.
“Miane……”
“Don’t worry! I won’t make any mistake today!” Jiyong placed his forehead against her, and then kissed it.
“Ji, you never made any mistake.” She smiled warmly. She turned around and saw the others were already seated and the pretty little angel, who is Mina was glaring at her. Her heart skipped a beat. But then she said to herself “Okay! Be a tiger! No, wolf! Wolf is much better! It’s winter for god sake!”
Jiyong led her to the table, holding her hands tightly. Gwibin and Taeyang were puzzled for a while. They thought the two of them wanted to hide what they have.
“Hey, Mina…” Jiyong said. “Have you guys ordered?” The boys who were still deep in their hangover kept looking down and having a hard time reading the menu.
“I’ll have whatever you have, hyung. I can’t think….” Seungri threw the menu to the side “Nothing oily, okay…”
“I’m with him. I can’t think….”
“We’re all with you. No screams today, okay...” TOP said with an empty expression. “What’s wrong with you guys?” Mina realized that all of them looked pale and eyes were puffy as a pillow. Their eyes bags can be seen from the bar!
“We drank too much. This is the worst hangover I ever have….” Seungri sipped a glass of water.
“Hangover soup?” Jiyong closed the menu “Do you want anything else, Sora?” they were sitting next to each other. Mina who was in front of them was trying hard to control her jealousy.
“I’m fine with that. I think all of us need some hangover soup.”
“My head feels like its going to explode!” Daesung was now slapping his face to make the pain go away.
The waiter came and took their orders. Since Seungri was sitting next to Mina, the talkative little maknea did a good job preventing her from interrupting his hyung and Sora. Seungri was happy for Sora and Jiyong. He really wanted them to work out. Mina who was really annoyed by Seungri faked her smile all throughout the conversation but she kept glancing at Jiyong. “Why her? Why wont you look at me instead, oppa?”
Jiyong wanted to show another side of him that Sora never had the chance to see. He wanted to prove Sora how much she prefer her than Mina. Lunch was quiet. Everyone was enjoying the soup. They avoid to make rattling sounds from the spoon. Only little mumbles were heard in between every sips.
“This is heaven…..”
“Aaahh… I love whoever invented the hangover soup…..”
Once they finished their meals, their conversation started again but livelier. Daesung became the centre of the attention. He started telling facetious jokes about his school mates and work. Everyone laughed at him as Seungrikept interrupting by deny whatever he has to say. Daesung is the one who always makes the group laugh and smile and with Seungri always close to him, the group is like a real family. (YG FAMILY)
“Hey, I’m going to get some coffee, you want anything?” Mina overheard Jiyong. “You have been screaming coffee all over the place.” He teased. She remembered back how silly she reacted, stomping her way to the café. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she smiled shyly. “Sure. i’ll have whatever you have.”
“Oppa!” jiyong stopped walking just next to Sora. “Can you get me some coffee too? You know my favourite!” Mina immediately glared at Sora.
“Sure.” he smiled.
The red checkered snow hat with some of the threads loosing itself from the sewn made Mina chuckled. To her, Mina looked petty. But she noticed the spectacle she was wearing was not from any ordinary brand.
“I like your glasses. Where did you buy it?” everyone suddenly stopped talking and turned their heads to them except for TOP. He didn’t really care what would happen.
“Jiyong gave it to me.” She answered with a low shaking voice. “Wolf! Wolf! You’re supposed to be a wolf!”
“That makes sense. People like you can never afford a Kate Spade like those.” She emphasized the last word. “Did he bought it for you or did you ask for him to buy it for you?”
The insults were starting to loose her patience. But she held her breath, counted to ten quietly to let it pass by.
“He bought it for, Sora.” TOP who was at the edge of the other side of the table spoke, drinking his ice blended coffee with extra shots. “I was with him when he bought it. He said he really wanted to buy you one although I kept on telling him to buy you flowers instead.” He smiled. Truthfully, TOP was a bit angry when he heard Mina calling Sora petty. He didn’t like people who look down on anyone.
There was a cold tense feeling in the air. But as soon as Jiyong came, everyone acted it was fine.
“Here’s the caramel espresso,” he placed in front of Mina “Coffee for us and….” There was a slice of chocolate cake on a silver plate that Sora had secretly longed for. He smiled with joy, feeling like a Santa Clause after delivering presents to each and every child in the world.
“I didn’t ask for cake… but I wont turn this down, Ji.” Slowly stretching her hands to the plate.
“Remember last week when you said you wanted some cake?”
“Yeah… I did…” she focused her eyes on the cake, slicing it carefully with the smallest fork on the table.
“I promised to buy you one remember? But I didn’t…”
“Oh yeah! But you know I wasn’t mad or anything…” she truned to him, surprised at herself that she had forgotten about the promise he made.
“I was busy the other day. I’m still sorry…”
“Aww…you’re so sweet….” Gwibin purposely raised her voice to annoy Mina. Jiyong couldn’t resist not hugging her. And so he pulled her head to his body and started crushing and messing with her head.
“Ji…stop it…” Sora and the other couldn’t help but laughed except for Mina. Her face immediately went red, clenching her hands tightly below the table cursing the petty girl who has the boy if his dream under her spells. She gritted her teeth. “You won’t win this battle. I won’t let you.”
“Hyung! What about our cake?!!”
“Yeahh…what about us..??” Taeyang and TOP could only smile at Daesung and Seungri.
“Fine…You can have whatever you want.” Jiyong gave in to them.
Daesung and Seungri quickly ran to the bar, literally ran to the bar and their chairs almost fell down. TOP glanced from the left and then right, slowly stood up, maintaining his cool, gentleman posture. He walked away slowly with a smile on his face.
“You can go too, Youngbae.” Jiyong said. He knew Youngbae wouldn’t want to miss the chance. He didn’t show it because he was too shy.
“Yes!!!” with his hands up in the air. “Come on, Gwibin-shi.” He took her wrist.
Only Mina, Sora and Jiyong were left at the table.
She raised the spoon to her mouth slowly, eyes looking directly at Mina. She jumped a little when Jiyong came close to her and whispered “Like the sky, you are always around me. Even the brightest star at night outshines you, you’re still with me.”
The soft whisper made her limbs soft. Every inch of her body was as light as feather now. She couldn’t help but smile. She turned to him, eyes filled with tears but she held it in. Her heart felt like jumping out of her body. She can’t let go of this man. She can’t let go of the beautiful dragon that has stole everything she has.
“Do you want some cake?” Sora said with a sarcastic tone. Lifting up the spoon closes to her and then she stretched her arm to Mina with an in-your-face- look.

After the perfect escape from the busy city, things gradually start to change. The snow is slowly melting. Time is passing by with or without their consent. Slowly the ice begins to melt. The tall sky-scrapper which was covered with the heavy white show lowly begins to show its original color. Each day the wind blew the snowflakes to the sky. For every object that the wind blew upon, there is always something new that will land.
Spring has finally landed in Seoul. The brown gloomy tress which was lighted by the fairy light on every winter night has started to blossom flower from its branches. White has turn to light pink. Green and red flowers can be seen all over the parks. Seoul is full with colors now and so is their relationship. There were time; they turned blue, hurting over the secret and lies of the world. There are days one of them turned into a green eyed monster, quarrelling over silly mistakes and misunderstanding. But truthfully they enjoyed the ride.
One morning they would be up in the air reaching for the blue white sky. And some nights they feel like drowning in the sea of guilt’s and loneliness. They tried their best to compromise each other schedule and only see each other once a week at midnight. But one day, fate was not on their side. Pictures of the two of them walking hand in hand at an empty street in Hongdae was printed in the newspaper, posted on the internet and screened on every entertainment news. For every interview Jiyong attended, the media would always stress him with the scandal. His answer would always be the same “We’re just friends. We like how we stand now. Please respect us.”
But he’s not the only one who has to face the paparazzi. Sora too is trying her best with the balancing act between her work and the new scandal.
“Hey, are you dating G-Dragon?”
“Tell us, we’ll keep it a secret.”
“You can’t be just friends. It’s impossible!”
She kept hearing those every time she walks alone going from one place to another. Her answer will always be the same: “We’re just close friends. Can’t we hold hands? There’s nothing wrong with joking around with him while holding hands.”
But she knew deep in her heart, it was just impossible to be friends. She wanted to try and respect Jiyog decision after she saw Jiyong poured his affection to her in front of Mina. The sweet touch and of curse the sweet taste of the chocolate cake from him was still surreal. Even after the hard talk with Gwibin, she still felt obliged to give 100% effort in their secret romance.
Aimi- sorry for being too late. lol xoxo!
